Frequently asked questions

Is my data private?

Yes. Daybook stores everything on your device. If you enable iCloud, your journal syncs through your own private iCloud account (Apple's CloudKit). We run no servers and never see your data — there are no accounts, ads, or trackers.

How do I sync across my devices?

iCloud sync is on by default. Sign into the same Apple ID with iCloud enabled on each device, and your pages appear everywhere automatically. You can check sync status in Settings.

How do I add a task, event, or note?

Tap the + next to "Log" on any page, or double-tap the empty space below your entries. Choose the type, type it in, and tap Add. On iPad you can also drag a bullet onto a calendar day, a month, or a collection to move it.

What do the bullet types mean?

What is "migration"?

At the end of a day or month, you carry unfinished tasks forward to a new day, schedule them to the Future Log, or cross them out if they no longer matter. This small, deliberate step keeps your list intentional.

How do habits and streaks work?

Add a habit, then check it off each day on your Daily Log. Daybook shows your current streak and your 30-day completion rate.

How do reminders and repeating tasks work?

Give a task a due date to receive a local notification, and optionally set it to repeat (daily, weekdays, weekly, monthly, and so on). Completing a repeating task automatically creates its next occurrence.
